The Fox River Ride to Lake Geneva (FRRLG), affectionately referred to as the FROG, started in 2018 and is now in its fourth year.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Batavia, the first year of FROG involved 12 riders, the next year 22. Last year, there were close to 50 riders.
Starting in Batavia, home of many of the original riders, at about 7am, the ride heads north for about 62 miles. The route is mostly path (crushed limestone or asphalt) with a few miles of rural roads in Wisconsin.
The first stop along the way is at the 20-mile mark and after that, there is a designated stop about every 10 miles. All of the stops provide water, Gatorade, fruit, and snacks. All but one stop has local establishments right at the stop to provide a greater variety of food and “beverages” to purchase.
Arrival is in Lake Geneva is usually about 4pm and the bus arrives at 7pm. That gives everyone enough time to have dinner and enjoy a little bit of Lake Geneva.
