The City of West Chicago has announced the return of its spectacular fireworks display on Saturday, Aug. 14.
The fireworks show, which can be viewed at The Shell, will be the grand finale of Taco & Art Fest, a day-long celebration which starts at 3 p.m. at Reed-Keppler Park, 129 W. National St. in West Chicago.
The West Chicago Park District event is a welcome return of community special events. The festival will include art, music and food trucks through 8 p.m. followed by everyone’s favorite fireworks, provided by the city, at 9 p.m.
“It’s been a long road to get to this point,” said Mayor Ruben Pineda, referring to the return of community special events after a more than yearlong pause due to the pandemic.
“But the community’s diligence in following public health guidelines and recommendations has seen us through. I am very grateful for that, now it’s time to celebrate a safe return to community life as we know and love it in West Chicago.”
