    Elgin Police Respond To Shots Fired; City On Track To Match 2016 Record

    At approximately 8:52 p.m. Thursday evening, Elgin police officers responded to the 300 block of S. Belmont Ave. for a report of shots fired.

    Upon arrival evidence of a shooting was located.

    No injuries or property damage has been reported at this time.

    This is the 38th reported shooting incident in Elgin this year, putting the city on pace to match it’s 2016 all-time record of 64.
