As had been widely reported, a chemical plant in Rockton (about 70 miles northwest of the Fox Valley) has burst into flames and remains burning at this hour.

Local authorities have evacuated all citizens within 1 mile of the plant, and have announced that the current plan is to let the fire burn itself out so as to avoid contaminating the nearby Rock River.

We will add more as developments warrant.
