North Aurora Police UPDATE 6/2 3:00pm

At 5:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to Woodman’s Market for two gunshot victims. After an initial on scene investigation, officers determined that two males approached a gray sedan on foot and got in. The sedan drove around the lot briefly before witnesses reported 2-3 “pop” sounds and then one of the males exited and limped away. The sedan rolled forward and two more popping sounds were heard. The sedan struck the curb in the far northwest corner of the parking lot where it came to rest. The other male exited the vehicle and briefly tried to help the limping male before leaving him and fleeing northbound through a grassy field.

A good samaritan rendered first aid to the limping male, age 26, by placing a tourniquet on his leg, which had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported by paramedics to an area hospital in fair condition. The driver of the car, a male age 17, sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and was transported by paramedics to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officers located two males (ages 19 and 27, respectively) in an apartment in the 1800 block of Oak St. They were both detained for questioning and transported to the North Aurora Police Department. The 19 year old remains in custody at this time and the 27 year old has been released.
We were assisted at the scene and the apartment by the Aurora Police Department and Kane County Sheriff’s Office. We thank them for their assistance.
This incident remains under investigation by the North Aurora Police Department and no charges have been filed at this time. Anyone with information should call the Investigations Division at (630) 897-8705, extension 758. Anonymous tips may be left by calling (630) 897-8705 and choosing option 2. Or call Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 and receive a reward for information leading to a felony arrest.

North Aurora Police UPDATE 6/1 7:40pm: We are currently questioning three individuals at the station. No further information is available at this time. The investigation is continuing but there is no search ongoing. There is no threat to the public.

According to a post on the Facebook page of North Aurora Police Department, officers are on the scene of a shooting involving two people in the Woodman’s Parking lot in the 100 block of Hansen Blvd.

One male has been transported to hospital in critical condition, while another male was transported in fair condition.

The North Aurora Police Department and Aurora Police Department are searching the area for a suspect.

Preliminary information shows that this shooting appears to be a targeted incident.

We will provide more information as it is available.
