Naperville Park District is preparing to open Centennial Beach and the Riverwalk Café on Saturday, May 29, after being closed for 2020 due to the pandemic. Centennial Beach will begin daily summer hours on May 29 and the Café will open with weekend-only hours until June 12, when daily summer hours begin.
“The Riverwalk Café offers favorite snacks, treats and beverages that can be enjoyed on the patio overlooking the Riverwalk and Paddleboat Quarry,” said Susan Norstrom, Superintendent of Facilities. “In addition to popular items like ice cream cones, Riverwalk Nachos and Caesar Salad Wraps, we are introducing a Churro Donut with Ice Cream. The beverage menu includes something for everyone, from a Kids Fountain Beverage to wine and beer.”
The Café opens at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 29. Visit www.napervilleparks.org/riverwalkcafe to view the full season schedule and menu.
Centennial Beach opens at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 29. The detailed swim schedule for the 2021 season can be viewed at www.centennialbeach.org/hours. Adult Float returns June 5 on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00-10:55 a.m. Special Needs Nights will be held on Sundays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on June 20, 27, July 18 and July 25, when families with individuals who have special needs are invited to enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening after regular operating hours.
Centennial Beach memberships are on sale at a preseason discount through May 31, and at the regular rate beginning June 1. Benefits include: early entry on weekdays at 11:00 am, 10% discount at Centennial Grill, and coupons to redeem for other Park District amenities. Daily Beach passes for nonmembers may be purchased at the Beach on the day of your visit.
Centennial Beach will operate under guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), which limits swimming facilities under the Bridge Phase to multiple groups of 100 guests. Guests will be required to sit in designated seating zones to maintain groups, per IDPH requirement. Designated seating zones for up to 100 people will be marked at the facility, with 30 feet of distancing between zones. Additional guidelines will be posted on the Centennial Beach website prior to the start of the season.
Entry to the Beach will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If the Beach reaches capacity members’ entry will be delayed until spots open within the facility.
