The St. Charles Park District’s Concert in the Park is returning this summer, every Thursday at 7pm in Lincoln Park downtown St. Charles.

What gets your toes tapping? Beach music? Motown? Country? Blues? Whether it’s a country-and-western band with its own Nashville sound or an out-a-site party band playing the grittiest, grooviest garage rock hits, there is something for every musical taste on tap during the ever-popular Concerts in the Park series.

The annual Tyler Brett Caruso Memorial Concert kicks off the concert series on May 27. June 3 showcases the talents of Chicago’s top musicians in “Spoken Four” who play everything from the Jackson 5 to Maroon 5. “Kaleidoscope Eyes”, an acoustic Beatles tribute band, takes the stage on June 10. The next week, on June 17, you’ll move and groove to rock-n-roll tunes, bust a move with some hip hop, and sing your heart out to a pop rock pleasure with “One Night Band”. On June 24, “The Wayouts” will rock your socks off with hits from The Animals, The Kinks, The Troggs, The Stooges, The Monkees and so much more!

There will not be a concert on July 1 because on July 4 you can get a taste of your favorite fizz from the band “Soda” at 6pm in Pottawatomie Park.

The concert series resumes on July 8 and showcases “Serendipity,” a cool combo of young women with a power pop kick covering current and classic tunes. “Hillbilly Rockstarz” entertains the crowds on July 15 when this electrifying rock-n-country band combines the best of both genres. Can’t make it to the beach? Those alluring tropical sounds of steel drums and reggae beats come to you courtesy of “Mr. Meyers” on July 22. “Hello Weekend” plays on July 29 featuring everything from Gaga to Guns N’ Roses, and Bruno Mars to the Beach Boys.

And the summer ends on a high note on August 5 with perennial Chicago favorite “Howard and the White boys,” whose down-home brand of Chicago blues is infused with a soulful funky groove that wins raves from everyone from Buddy Guy to Koko Taylor.

Lincoln Park, located along Rt. 64/Main Street between 4th & 5th Streets, is a smoke-free park. For more details, visit stcparks.org/summer-concerts.
