Kids on break from school or virtual learning? Working from home and looking for a change of scenery? Don’t scramble on those closed school days that always seem to sneak up. Take a winter break in Wisconsin at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa or Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, located only 1 hour from Milwaukee and Chicago.

Whether you want to take a break and enjoy warmer temperatures like an indoor waterpark with 86 degree air temps or take the kids skiing at the Mountain Top at Grand Geneva for traditional winter delights, there’s a vacation waiting for families of any size. Experience 1,3000 acres of seasonal fun with plenty of outdoor experiences. Both resorts continue to implement the CleanCare Pledge to address and continue high standards of enhanced sanitization, social distancing, and technology processes for low-to-no contact interactions and the use of personal protective equipment.

Here are some options for Winter Break Fun in Wisconsin:

1.) Enjoy a family ski trip and to learn to ski. The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva is a ski hill for skiers of every level, especially beginners. There’s also ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

2.) Take out the bathing suits and head to Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark and enjoy the indoor waterpark, Moose Mountain Falls, which was voted one of USA Today’s 10Best Waterparks in the country. This all-suite resort is perfect for families who need plenty of space (including a kitchen!). Enjoy two vacations in one with the resort’s splash and ski package.

3.) Crafts, scavenger hunts, movie nights, and more. There’s plenty of family-friendly programming at Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark – even during the week! And don’t forget to make a stop at the arcade.

4.) Spend some more time outside and enjoy a horseback or carriage ride throughout the beautiful resort landscape.

5.) Family dinners but without the cooking. Leave the cooking to Grand Geneva’s award-winning culinary team. Executive Chef Nelly Buleje is always serving seasonal favorites and culinary delights at the resort’s award winning restaurants and popular private outdoor igloo experience. There’s also family-friendly dining at Timber Ridge for the pickiest of eaters.

6.) For mom and dad – take a break and treat yourself to much-deserved fireside cocktails, spa treatments, and a trip to the fitness center.

For parents who would like to create their own winter break and work-from-hotel, the New Week, New Office Package at Grand Geneva offers “pick your perk” options like a free second room so parents working remotely have plenty of space and some peace and quiet; the option of a free suite upgrade to add a little extra workspace to the week; or a $100 resort credit to enjoy decadent dining, golf, or spa services.
