    Naper Settlement to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing With Space-themed Programs and Events

    This July, Naper Settlement has Moon Madness! The 13-acre history museum will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, 1969 with a variety of space-themed programs and events for all ages.

    Free Admission

    Visit Naper Settlement on July 14 for a Sunday throwback to the 1960s! A free admission day, Naper Settlement will offer space-themed activities and games to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing.


    Moon Madness Summer Camp

    July 15-19, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

    $210/week/camper, Grades 1-6

    Camp Naper will bring space exploration to students, grades 1-6 with a week-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Walk! Campers will learn about all things SPACE as they explore the Space Race and the Apollo journeys, hear stories about famous scientists and astronauts, and discover the latest space exploration efforts. Budding astronauts will love making their own moon rover, conducting experiments, and even launching a rocket!


    Naper Nights – 50th Celebration of the Moon Landing

    July 20, 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.

    In conjunction with the Naperville Heritage Society’s 50th Anniversary, Naper Night is celebrating 50th milestones in history all summer long! On July 20, the concert series will celebrate the Moon Landing with a line-up featuring Spaceface, a David Bowie tribute, opening for Think Floyd USA, a Pink Floyd tribute. This galactic line-up will include Think Floyd USA playing the chart-topping album “Dark Side of the Moon” in its entirety. On August 16 and 17, Naper Nights will return with a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock.
