Media Advisory: Elgin High School to Host U-46 Marching Band Showcase

Clinic to give in-depth look at performances

The District’s five high school marching bands will convene Wednesday night for a first-time U-46 Marching Band Showcase at Elgin High School’s Memorial Stadium.

“This showcase aims to bring together and celebrate our amazing high school music programs,” said EHS Band Director Robert Sanchez. “The best students representing all areas of the District will share their passions and talents at Memorial Field Wednesday night. Our goal is to make this an annual event.”

Each high school marching band will participate in a performance and an on-field clinic from guest instructors Dr. Thomas Bough, Director of Huskie Bands at Northern Illinois University and Erica Bough, an experienced judge and accomplished high school band director. The Boughs will tailor the clinic to the students on the field and also educate spectators in the stands about their feedback. Dr. Bough also conducts the Wind Symphony and teaches graduate conducting and instrumental arranging.

The marching band showcase is free to U-46 students with ID, children under five, and senior citizens who are 62 and older. General admission to the event is $5.
