The 11th Hour Bloody Mary Cocktail Recipe

The World’s Greatest Bloody Mary!

We see bars and restaurants showing pictures of their Bloody Marys on Facebook with burgers, tacos, or chicken wings hanging out the top. That’s great, but what do they actually put in the Bloody Mary?  Often, when you go to a bar and order a Bloody Mary, they give you well vodka and tomato juice with an olive. The 11th Hour Bloody Mary pays respect to what matters: the base of the drink. Our drink uses a combination of cucumber, bacon, and jalapeno vodka for the base. This drink will require a little more effort, but after the first taste of the 11th Hour Bloody Mary, you will never go back to the previous hack versions you were served at Sunday brunch or during football games.

Level of difficulty: moderate

Ingredients needed: Vodka, (cucumber, bacon vodka, and jalapeño recommended), Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, celery salt (we recommend The Spice House Celery Salt from Geneva), ground horseradish (optional), pickle juice, salt, pepper, lime, and tomato juice or Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix

Optional Garnished (choose 2): bacon strip, celery, beef jerky strip, cheese cubes, olives or stuffed olives, and/or a pickle

Tools needed: jigger or pour spout, spoon, and pint glass

1.    Cut lime into quarters and cut a slit in one quarter and sprinkle celery salt on a small plate

2.    Rim pint glass with one quarter of lime, rim the glass in the celery salt, and squeeze the lime into the  glass

3.    Add 1 ½ ounces vodka to the glass, 3 parts cucumber vodka, 1 part Jalapeno, 1 part Bacon.

4.    Add 2 shakes Worcestershire sauce and tabasco

5.    Add 1 spoonful pickle juice and ¼ - ½ teaspoon ground horseradish (more or less depending on level of spice desired)

6.    Shake in salt and pepper

7.    Stir ingredients with spoon

8.    Fill glass with ice and top with tomato juice or Zing Zang bloody Mary Mix

9.    Garnish

10.  Enjoy!
