“The Geneva Mule” Cocktail Recipe

Made with Fox River Distilling Company's Geneva's Preservation Gin

By now, everyone has heard of the Moscow Mule and its copper mug.  As a private bartending company, we have noticed this trend first hand and have expanded our equipment to include copper mugs. As the drink became more popular, many variations began to sprout up as drinkers became more creative and curious. This week’s drink is one of the more popular variations.  The primary difference is the use of gin instead of vodka. We are calling it “The Geneva Mule” because we used Geneva’s very own Fox River Distilling Company's Geneva's Preservation Gin.

Level of Difficultly: Low

Ingredients Needed: gin, fresh limes, mint leafs, ginger beer (non-alcoholic ginger beer such as Bundaberg or Gosling work best)

Tools Needed: copper mug, spoon, and jigger or pour spout

Directions

1.       Cut Lime into quarters, cut 1 of the quarter pieces in half for garnish and pick a handful of mint leafs

2.       Fill copper mug (or glass) with ice

3.       Pour 1 ½ oz to 2 oz of gin over ice

4.       Squeeze 2 quarter limes over ice and add a mint leaf, leave the limes on top of the ice after squeezing

5.       Pour ginger beer over limes and mint

6.       Stir the limes and mint to mix in the mug/glass

7.       Garnish with lime and mint leaf

8.       Enjoy!

Fox River Distillery’s Geneva’s Preservation Gin is an outstanding gin. We tried it on the rocks and in multiple mixed drinks from G&Ts, gin and lemonade and even our Cucumber Lemonade it was great in all of them. It has won the Bronze medal at the San Francisco Spirits Competition in 2015.
