Juicy Steaks in a Big Country House…Eat The Burbs in Geneva

During one of our family drives we decided to drop in and checkout Country House in Geneva.

As the name suggests, the restaurant is themed to look like a big beautiful home in a rural area. At night the restaurant looks gorgeous from the street, it literally lured us in. Since we hadn’t really planned ahead or checked out the menu online we weren’t really sure what to expect. We entered, it felt like we were visiting some very well off family members that live in the country. There is wood everywhere, it’s gorgeous, very warm. The hostess greeted us promptly and sat us in the main dining room.

As we looked over the menu, the waitress approached, complimented us on how cute our children were and offered to take our drink orders. So far, things still felt like we were visiting family. We decided to try out the Ribeye Dinners, Oysters on the Half Shell (only available on Tuesdays) and a kids fish and chips. We have one little with some food allergies so after asking some questions we opted to stick with the food that we bring along with us when we’re out and about. Although there may have been no issues, we always opt for safe rather than sorry whenever we try out new places. Our food was delicious, the steakhouse ribeye was great, cooked a perfect medium rare, with crispy onion strings and a decent sized baked potato. I also enjoyed the Blue Point oysters, and at 59 cents each they are a steal. We will visit again soon to try the Ostrich burger and the German wurst platter, I was excited to see both on the menu, but couldn’t kick my hankering for a big juicy ribeye.

For a tasty meal in a comfortable setting with service that makes you feel right at home, give Country House of Geneva a try.
