Mongolian restaurant nears opening in downtown Yorkville

Downtown’s newest restaurant is only weeks from opening.

Mongolian 211, a Mongolian-style barbecue, could open in as early as three weeks, according to manager Rachel Conover.

Conover, who also is the owner of Cobblestone Bakery and Bistro, is the manager for two other restaurants on the same block along Route 47, between Hydraulic Avenue and Van Emmon Street downtown.

As workers were putting some of the final touches on Mongolian 211 this week, Conover said it would start with soft openings before a grand opening later this year.

The new restaurant is being remodeled into the one-time Bridge Restaurant, a long-time downtown fixture.
