Another upscale burger chain is coming to Geneva. Virginia-based Five Guys Burgers and Fries recently signed a lease to open a restaurant in the Geneva Commons lifestyle center.

The restaurant will open in a 2,158-square-foot space in the spring, stated Richard Spinell of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc., the leasing representative for Geneva Commons, in a news release.

Representatives for Five Guys and Mid-America could not be reached for further comment.

This is the second upscale burger chain to open in Geneva in recent months. In December, Tom & Eddie’s opened a restaurant in The Shoppes at Geneva Commons.

In addition, Smashburger recently opened its first restaurant in Illinois at the corner of Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Batavia.

This would be the first Five Guys restaurant to locate in the Tri-Cities. Other Five Guys restaurants are in Naperville, Bloomingdale and Bolingbrook.
