Proposed land sale would allow outdoor dining at local restaurant

Geneva aldermen have authorized a public hearing on a proposal that would allow the city to sell land on Third Street for use as an outdoor dining area.

The plan calls for Geneva to sell 931 square feet of city-owned property directly south of 577 S. Third Street and west of the Third Street entrance to the commuter parking deck to ShoDeen Inc.

ShoDeen Inc. plans to lease this property to its 577 S. Third Street tenant, Front Street Cantina, for use as an outdoor dining area.
