Looking for great Indian food? Head over to Tadka Indian Restaurant in Aurora near the corner of Route 59 and East New York Street.

“This is the best place in all of Chicago to experience Indian food,” said owner Niral Patel. “We opened Tadka because we felt like the Indian food in this area was very mediocre and definitely not what you can find in India. Ours is steps ahead of all the others and is very authentic and delicious.”

How did they get the food to be so authentic?

“During the concept phase, we got in touch with J.P. Singh, a world-renown chef in India,” Patel said. “He has cooked for royalty and presidents for many years. He helped us conceptualize our restaurant and put our menu together.”

Patel’s pre-planning worked. Since opening the restaurant in 2009, he’s experienced positive reviews.

“Customers are always telling me that their dining experience was fantastic and the quality of our food is second-to-none, which always makes me feel great,” he said.

The décor inside Tadka is upscale, yet comfortable, Patel said.

“We often get people who come in to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries,” he said. “But then, it is also a great place to come to eat before catching a movie.”
