When recreating the performances of a legendary rock band, it is important to
pay attention to details.

"We watch live tapes and get every part perfect: every drum kick, every
harmony," said Perry Stevens, lead vocalist of Journey Unauthorized, which will
perform at the Paramount Theatre on Sept. 11. In Journey Unauthorized, Stevens
performs the role of Steve Perry, Journey's lead singer during the 1970s and
1980s. "We listen to recorded versions and we listen to live versions. I watch
and learn how Steve Perry sang harmony and then jumped into an ad lib."
