Fox Valley: Geneva stars show off dancing moves in fundraising competition Geneva stars show off dancing moves in fundraising competition ================================================================================ Kane County Chronicle on 02/07/2011 08:13:00 Students at Heartland Elementary School had some advice for their principal before he took the stage at Saturday's "Dancing with the Geneva Stars" competition – don't drop your wife. Heartland Principal Adam Law and his wife, Amanda, were one of six couples who participated in the third annual event, a fundraiser for the Geneva Academic Foundation and the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission. The event raised more than $16,000 for the groups. "That's one of the reasons why I decided to do it, because of the money going to GAF," Adam Law said. "GAF grants are given on a yearly basis for teachers wanting to do extra things, such as with technology." Peter and Jane Cladis were crowned the winners of the competition after receiving the most votes. Professional dance instructors had been working with the couples since November preparing them for the big day. "They were kind enough to work with my non-coordinated body," Law said. Law and his wife danced the cha-cha in the competition. Dance instructor AuBrey Saelee said the main challenge was making sure the participants showed the right attitude. Read More
