Yorkville's River Fest

Friday, July 13 & Saturday, July 14 at Riverfront Park

Join the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department and the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce for a weekend filled with food, live country music, family activities, the Whitewater Festival, and more!  Yorkville River Fest is a family-friendly festival providing fun all weekend long!

Friday, July 13 (5-10pm)
Families will enjoy Cardboard Canoe Races, Homebrew Tasting, various family activities and live entertainment by Nashville Electric Company (7-10pm). 

Cardboard Canoe Race
The 4th Annual Cardboard Canoe Race is back and ready to crown it's newest winner as they battle to stay afloat and race down the Marge Cline Whitewater Course!  Three races are scheduled including:

Build Off-Site ($10/Boat)
Launch Time:  6pm
Gather your supplies, create your boat at home, and get ready to race the rapids in your very own cardboard canoe!

Build On-Site ($15/Boat)
Launch Time:  6:30pm
Participants will build their boat onsite at the festival from 4:00-5:30pm using the limited supplied materials. 

Float-Off
The top three of the first two races will paddle it out to see who really can stay afloat!

Life vests, helmets, and paddles will be supplied and kids are welcome to participate with parental permission.  For more information and to register, click here! 

Homebrew Tasting
Our favorite homebrewers, 2425 Brewing Co. and Reveter Brewing, are back and ready to showcase some of their newest creations!  For $10 a person, receive a souvenir tasting glass, 3 homebrew tastes, and a 14oz  pour of your choice from the beer tent!  The Homebrew Tasting will begin at 5:00pm and goes until the kegs are tapped!

Featured Beers:
BumbleBee (American Wheat IPA 7.3%) 
A satisfying, refreshing IPA with a hoppy finish perfect for the summer months.

Toes To Da Sun (Belgian Pale Ale 8.1%)
Belgian Red Ale with big notes of fruity hops and medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. 

Georgia Peach (Peach Wheat 5.5%)

Family Activities
This festival is designed for the entire family to have fun with several activities for kids of every age to enjoy including:  

"Apple Shots" (5-8:30pm)
Use a giant slingshot and attempt to aim your apple into the canoe on the river!

Face Painting by Sam Brown (5-8pm)
Hosted by SB Face Painting

Mini Obstacle Course for Kids (5-8:30pm)
Hosted by Go For it Sports

Free Kids' Games & Giant Lite Brite (5-9pm)

Saturday, July 14 (Noon-10pm)
Join us for a day filled with family activities, delicious food, the Whitewater Festival, Whiskey Acres Tasting, and LIVE COUNTRY MUSIC!

Country Band Line-Up
Grab your boots and get ready to sing along to all of your favorite country hits as we have an amazing lineup of country music throughout the day including:

County Line Brothers (Noon-2:00pm)
Back Country Roads (3:00-6:00pm)
Whiskey Romance (7:00-10:00pm)

Illinois Whitewater Festival
Marge Cline Whitewater Course (301 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville IL)
Join the Illinois Whitewater Association and bring your boat, paddling skills, family and friends as they host a Buttercup Slalom Race and Boatercross competition all day on the Marge Cline Whitewater Course!  Registration will begin at 9am on Saturday, July 14 with the competition starting at 10am.  For more information go to cwa.wildapricot.org.

Whiskey Acres Distillery Tasting
Whiskey Acres Distilling Company will be back again at this year's Yorkville River Fest on Saturday, July 14!  Three 30 minute sessions will be offered at 3:30pm, 4:15pm, and 5:00pm.  For $10/person, participants will enjoy three 1/4oz tastes of Whiskey Acres products as well as one craft cocktail while learning about the history of whiskey production and Whiskey Acres's estate distillery.  Sessions are limited to 40 people, so preregistration is encouraged and can be completed online at yorkville.il.us/register.  Registration will also be taken the day of the event as space allows.

Don't Forget About The Food!
The smell of BBQ Ribs will fill the park all weekend long as the Knights of Columbus provide their award winning ribs!  If you're not a fan of ribs, additional local food vendors will be serving their fan favorites.
