ART FOR ALL Annual Winter Show

At Elgin’s Gail Borden Public Library

Come and enjoy Art for All’s Annual Winter Art Show at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin throughout the month of December, 2017.

This special event feature recent creations from the members of Art for All, people with a variety of backgrounds.  We, in the Elgin area, are bless with an abundance of truly talented artists.

Members range from art students to art teachers to professionals to amateurs, 3D and 2D artists working in traditional materials and modern technology and techniques.  All share a drive to create, but each with a unique expression of ideas, places, people, nature, social commentary; an endless list. Each artists takes his or her own path to fulfill this drive to create.  The best thing about it is that the process will take an artist someplace outside of everyday practical existence. And any artist will tell you that the process takes over the artist, as if the artist is merely the tool used to create. And when the piece is completed, another piece is started - because it is the process, rather than the piece of artwork itself, that is the primary.  Through an art exhibit, the audience is given a peek into the mind of the artist, and not only into that mind, but into that mind while in the process of creating.

These artists work in a wide variety of mediums including oil paintings, watercolors, three-dimensional pieces, collage, photography, computer generated painting, mixed media, and more.

Art for All member artists will submit a single favorite piece for the exhibit which will be judged by a professional in the field of art. Cash prizes provided by Art for All will be awarded.  This further ensures that AFA artists are submitting their best, thus making this a very special event.

Art for All extends an invitation to all to experience the show, which will be appropriate for all ages. Take a stroll through the exhibit, enjoy the artwork, and find your personal favorites. The majority of these are available for purchase through direct communication with the artists.

Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N Grove Ave, 1st Floor, Elgin, IL 60120, open through December.
