When families come to downtown South Elgin for Riverfest Express, they also are invited to enjoy the Trolley Museum's Trolleyfest on Saturday and Sunday. The Trolley Museum is just three blocks south of Panton Mill Park.
This is the 29th year of Trolleyfest, held in conjunction with Riverfest for the past 13 years.
Trolleyfest kicks off on Saturday at the Trolley Museum, with trolley rides offered from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. The classic trolleys include Chicago "L" cars and interurban electric railway cars built between 1902 and 1959. The museum's 1891-vintage Chicago streetcar RPO, a post office on wheels, also will be on display.
