Even though the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore had done no promotion about Wednesday’s opening of the new Aurora store, the first day of business brought in a steady stream of traffic.

“We haven’t even announced it yet,” said Ron Kelso, director of volunteers for the Aurora ReStore.

The 28,000-square-foot facility, at 4100 Fox Valley Center Drive, just north of the Westfield Fox Valley mall, sells new and used home improvement products including building materials, furniture, appliances, cabinets, flooring, paint, countertops, lawn and garden supplies, and bathroom supplies.

“We just received a semi-load of granite, so we have lots of granite,” noted Kelso.

ReStore receives its merchandise from manufacturers that donate discontinued items and donations from the public.

Although much of the merchandise is used, the store will only accept donated items that are in good condition.
